FAQs

Congratulations on your commitment to discovering a NewFound YOU! Have some questions about your membership, NEWF or CrossFit in general? Here is a list of answers to our most often heard questions.

WHERE SHOULD I PARK?

Park anywhere in the main parking lot but not in front of any of the buildings or garage doors.

WHERE CAN I PUT MY GEAR?

Any cubby that does not have a nametag is open game. Just ask a coach for the blue tape and marker and make one your own. If none are available, feel free to temporarily store any of your stuff on an empty box, bench or wall space.

IS THERE A WATER FOUNTAIN?

There is a fountain attached the the cleaning sink behind the white board. There is also an ice and water dispenser on the fridge in the kitchen, and cups in the cabinet above the microwave. You can also purchase pre and post wod drinks via the Chalkit app - just tap the store icon at the bottom of the screen.

HOW MANY DAYS/WEEK SHOULD I ATTEND?

We have some members that come as little as 3 days per week and many that come 6 days per week. The amount you should come depends on your goals and current level of fitness. The best answer is to ask a coach, but if you are wanting to get stronger or make any noticeable body composition changes, you should be active every day, with CrossFit comprising at least 4 of those.

CAN YOU HELP ME WITH MY NUTRITION?

The quick answer is yes, and for most people it is as simple as eating more protein and drinking more water. If you are wanting a more detailed and personalized program, including recommendations on supplements see Coach Chris or Coach KP.

I AM VERY SORE, SHOULD I TAKE A DAY OFF?

Our programming has a strength bias, which means we will be breaking down muscle fibers, likely leading to soreness the next day, especially in the beginning of your fitness journey. Typically the best thing to do when you are sore is to come to class, even if you "just" do a scaled version of the workout, a RomWod, bike or row (motion is lotion).  All the coaches are well versed on scaling movements, workouts and/or creating an alternative for soreness, or injuries, so don't hesitate to ask us for help. 

I DON'T HAVE THE STRENGTH/SKILL/FITNESS LEVEL TO PERFORM TODAY'S WORKOUT, SHOULD I STAY HOME?

No! This is exactly what CrossFit is all about. You take it one rep at a time, and with the help of your coach and fellow classmates, you overcome obstacles, fear and even ego, complete the challenge, and proudly put up your score.

DO I NEED TO PRE-REGISTER FOR CLASSES?

Yes and no. The 5am, 9am and noon classes require at least 1 person to be registered 2 hours prior to class start to guarantee the class runs. You can do so via the Chalkit App. 

DOES NEWF DO ANY EVENTS OR SOCIALS OUTSIDE OF THE GYM?

Yes. Over the years we have done CrossFit, Powerlifting, Strongman and Oly competitions, obstacle course racing, fun runs, paddle boarding and kayaking. We have also done get togethers at beer gardens, restaurants, gun ranges and apple orchards.
